Amur Flame Maple

A cold-hardy species noted for its resilience and vigorous growth. An excellent alternative to Tridents or Japanese Maples, Flame Amur Maple (Acer ginnala 'Flame') is prized by bonsai enthusiasts for its resilience. Its tolerance of extreme temperatures allows successful cultivation across diverse climates. Beyond hardiness, this species offers incredible potential with its rapid healing of pruning wounds and stylistic adaptability. 

Note that this species is deciduous and will not have leaves if shipped during the winter. The trees pictured are representative examples and will not be the exact trees you receive. Some may have wire to get proper branch placement.

Sizing Notes: 

• Regular Starts are runts of the litter or cuttings taken last year.
• Premium Starts have thick bases, but less development. They have been cut back substantially in Spring and may just be developing primary branching as they move into Summer.
• Premium+ Starts are generally larger in caliper and more developed, having been pruned more and some wired. 
• Medium Prebonsai have been worked and wired at least a couple times and have fantastic overall form.
