Japanese Black Pine (Pinus thunbergii) is renowned as the "king of bonsai," regarded as perhaps the most quintessential species. Over time, the Japanese Black Pine develops an enchanting trunk character, with thick, plated bark textures emerging on mature specimens.Highly adaptable to various styles from informal upright to rugged literati, JBP thrives in full sun exposure and well-draining soil.
Note: the trees pictured are representative examples and will not be the exact trees you receive. Some may have wire for movement or branch placement. Bends were put in these a little bit late on larger sizes, so most are suitable for medium- to large-size finished bonsai.
