Kwanzan Cherry (Prunus serrulata 'Kanzan') is a spectacular flowering bonsai subject developed during Japan's Edo period centuries ago. Their springtime display of abundant double pink blooms make them one of the most dramatic flowering cherries available. While the coarse foliage presents some styling challenges, proper pruning techniques help maintain proportionate leaf size. The tree's natural vigor allows for rapid development of branch structure and ramification.
Note that this species is deciduous and will not have leaves if shipped during the winter. The trees pictured are representative examples and will not be the exact trees you receive. Some may have wire for movement or branch placement.
