Seedlings of 'Arakawa' Japanese Maple

These Japanese Maple seedlings are grown from seeds harvested from our 'Arakawa' stock trees. Not all Arakawa seedlings will produce the signature rough bark of the parent cultivar, but these starts trend between 70 and 85% inheritance, depending on the batch, with rough bark showing up around year 4 or 5. Other than the bark characteristic, these display standard green leaf Acer palmatum characteristics, with vibrant green leaves that often transition to fiery hues in autumn.

Note that this species is deciduous and will not have leaves if shipped during the winter. The trees pictured are representative examples and will not be the exact trees you receive. Some may have wire for movement or branch placement.
