This Apple was originally purchased from Transylvania County Agricultural Extension Agency's Spring Plant Sale in 2015. The apple was planted in the ground for eight years. It was originally destined to be an orchard tree, but after a vole chewed on its bark and girdled much of the upper trunk one winter, it was cut back, potted up, carved and wired as a pre-bonsai over the course of two years. ALL native field soil has been removed from this apple's roots. It is a cultivar of "Malus domestica" and will produce lovely apple blossoms in the spring on short spur shoots. It WILL produce full sized edible apples if the flowers are pollinated and if the tree is given ample water during the summer months.
Note: this tree is for local pickup only unless you are willing to pay true shipping costs, plus $70 handling and packing fee. If you would like to arrange for shipping, please contact us.
