The curves and twists on this Corkscrew Hazel bonsai are just outstanding. Also known as Harry Lauder's Walking Stick, it is a cultivar of the European Hazelnut or Filbert. This tree already has excellent ramification and tapered movement. The tree's nebari continues into the soil and is quite nice from all angles. This is a magical cultivar whose winter silhouette is among the most unique and eye-catching in the plant world.
This particular pre-bonsai began as a small cutting rooted in Spring 2017. It was grown in increasingly larger nursery pots as it grew until the Spring of 2025. The pre-bonsai has been barerooted, planted in a permanent soil-less bonsai growing media and is currently planted in a shallow training pot.
