Deodar Cedar

Deodar Cedar (Cedrus deodara) presents a rewarding challenge for bonsai enthusiasts willing to master its unique cultivation requirements, which diverge from many other conifers. With distinctive pale green needles arranged in characteristic clusters along gracefully drooping branches, this cedar is native to the western Himalayas but thrives in warmer climates than most commonly used pines. A fast-growing species with naturally pendulous branch habit and bark that develops attractive fissures with age, adding to mature specimens' appeal.
