'Goshiki Kotohime' is an ultra-dwarf cultivar that checks nearly every box for bonsai use. The leaves are among the smallest in the Japanese Maple universe and the internodes are exceptionally short - you get dense ramification without years of clip-and-grow work. What makes this one interesting is the variegation: new growth emerges with subtle pink tones, transitions through green and cream patterns in summer, then finishes with good fall color. Growth is slow, making it well-suited to shohin or mame sizes where you want refinement without constant pruning. These trees all originated as cuttings from one of our specimen mother trees at the nursery, so there's no graft union to contend with.
Note that this species is deciduous and will not have leaves if shipped during the winter. The trees pictured are representative examples and will not be the exact trees you receive. Some may have wire for movement or branch placement.
