Japanese Maple - Twisted/Wired

Arguably the quintessential deciduous bonsai species, these Japanese Maples were wired up for movement in their first year of growth so the trunks have wonderful, dynamic visual interest. These starts are standard green mountain maples grown from seed -- usually Mikawa Yatsubusa -- that display standard A. palmatum characteristics rather than those of their parent. 

Note that this species is deciduous and will not have leaves if shipped during the winter. The trees pictured are representative examples and will not be the exact trees you receive. Some may have wire for movement or branch placement.

Sizing Notes:

• Regular Starts are 1-2 years old, often with narrower caliper. Whips were wired up last season and top pruned a tad. Bends are mostly set and good to go!
• Premium Starts are the same, but have thicker trunks and better branching.
