Korean Hornbeam (Carpinus coreana) is one of the finest natural bonsai subjects, renowned for natural growth patterns that seemingly sculpt themselves into bonsai forms. Grown from a trusted seed source, these healthy starts develop smooth, silvery bark when mature, providing a stunning aesthetic contrast to the unique rippled foliage that reduces to scale. Native to Korea and China, this hardy species thrives in both sun and partial shade. With its extraordinary branching habits doing much of the shaping work, Korean Hornbeam allows both novice and experienced enthusiasts to craft refined bonsai with relative ease

Note that this species is deciduous and will not have leaves if shipped during the winter. The trees pictured are representative examples and will not be the exact trees you receive. Some may have wire for movement or branch placement.
