'Miyasama Yatsubusa' Trident - Cutting Grown

Miyasama Yatsubusa Trident Maple is a dwarf selection with unique, rounded lobes and short internodes. Unlike standard tridents that grow vigorously with coarse internodes - this cultivar tightens everything up considerably and is very slow growing. The leaves are noticeably smaller than the species, and branching develops more compactly without the leggy growth you often fight with regular tridents. They sport an outstanding sunburst fall color pattern that transitions from vibrant yellow in the center to a deep salmon-red at the leaf edges. 'Miyasama Yatsubusa' works particularly well for smaller compositions where standard tridents would quickly outgrow the design. These starts originated as cuttings from one of our specimen mother trees at the nursery, so there's no graft union to contend with.

Note that this species is deciduous and will not have leaves if shipped during the winter. The trees pictured are representative examples and will not be the exact trees you receive. Some may have wire for movement or branch placement.
