'Nishiki Gawa' Grafted Japanese Maple

A classic and rare green-leaf cultivar of Japanese Maple with pointy leaves and an upright form. Its signature characteristic - and the one of particular interest to bonsai practice - is that it develops rough, corky bark in 2-4 years - a little bit faster than it's cousin 'Arakawa.' Nishiki Gawa is fantastic in both the landscape and as stock trees for propagating bonsai material. As is standard practice in the nursery trade, these are sized by container.

Note that this species is deciduous and will not have leaves if shipped during the winter. The trees pictured are representative examples and will not be the exact trees you receive.

• #3 Trade Gallon: 30 to 48 inches tall, usually with a 1/2"-7/8" trunk and a 3+ year old graft.
