Princess Persimmon (Diospyros rhombifolia) is a truly exceptional bonsai subject, highly coveted for its rarity in US collections and distinctive ornamental qualities. Female specimens produce striking bright orange fruits that create dramatic visual contrast against the small, glossy leaves. With naturally delicate, flowing growth pattern, the fine branching structure develops graceful movement with minimal training, while the trunk takes on character with age. The species thrives in mild climates and and can be very finicky about root work, but usually recovers after a season.
Note that this species is deciduous and will not have leaves if shipped during the winter. The trees pictured are representative examples and will not be the exact trees you receive. Some may have wire for movement or branch placement.
We are prohibited by law from shipping Princess Persimmon to California.
