This large Red Maple was wild collected from the woods of Iredell County in 2011, fourteen years ago. This tree was collected because of its handsome evenly spread root flare. It was planted in the ground and grown for 12 years. It was dug Spring 2023, ALL native field soil was removed from the roots and the tree was potted into a soil-less permanent bonsai substrate. Cut paste was applied to the Red Maple's sacrifice branch wounds and they are rolling in with new cambium at a fast rate.
This tree has more than one possible front and is attractive and intriguing from many angles. This is a large tree that commands attention and with the right owner can be made into a thing of great beauty in the coming years. Red Maples are capable of vigorous growth, so building branches and a canopy will move along quickly. The larger size of this tree compliments the Red Maple leaf size quite well. Fantastic Fall color.
Note: this tree is for local pickup only unless you are willing to pay true shipping costs, plus $70 handling and packing fee. If you would like to arrange for shipping, please contact us.
