Trident Maple - Cutting Grown

These starts are cuttings/genetic clones of a particular Trident Maple specimen purchased in 2017 at the NC Expo. This variety is unnamed, and offers some slightly different genetics from normal Trident. Leaves are a brighter rather than dark green, internodes tend to reduce more easily than other Tridents in our collection, and new growth emerges with greener twigs and more of a rosy pink leaves than a deeper red/brown. As they are cuttings, starts will not have a dominant taproot to contend with as you'd usually find in seed grown bonsai. Very limited quantities available!

Note that this species is deciduous and will not have leaves if shipped during the winter. The trees pictured are representative examples and will not be the exact trees you receive. Some may have wire for movement or branch placement.

Sizing Notes: 

• Regular Starts usually have narrower caliper and less development. They have been cut back and may or may not be developing primary branching.
• Premium Starts are either significantly larger cuttings or a year older, and have the associated increase in caliper and development.
